Step by Step
Join this tour of southern Cappadocia and discover the many charms of this region, known as one of the most beautiful and visited in Turkey. The activity will last approximately 7 hours, during which you will be able to marvel at the stunning natural landscapes and monuments that characterise Cappadocia.
During the tour, you will be accompanied by an expert guide who will familiarise you with the culture, history and environment of the area. In the Ihlara Valley, you will cross its impressive gorge, while admiring the rock-hewn rock-hewn churches of the region.
You will also have the opportunity to visit the ancient underground city of Derinkuyu, which was built around the 8th century by the Byzantines to hide the local population from enemy attacks and invasions. The city has 8 underground levels, with a total depth of up to 85 metres, filled with residential areas, stables, churches, water wells, oil wells, communal dining halls and even a school.
Another well-known monument in the area that you can visit is the Selime Monastery, considered one of the largest in all of Cappadocia. The monastery was built around the 13th century and is admired for the beauty of its location and its stone carved architecture.
