Step by Step
By choosing this tasting you will be able to enter the Winemaker's Loft and taste the best wines produced at the Reif Estate winery. The experience lasts approximately one hour and allows you to enter the most select environment of the estate. The history of the winery began with the arrival of the Reif family in Canada in 1950. Ewald Reif, a German-born agronomist and winemaker, brought with him a wealth of experience and knowledge in the field of viticulture.
In a historic winery, as well as being one of the most highly-regarded in the country. These are the varieties harvested on the estate:
- Icewine - The most characteristic vintage of the Reif Estate winery. The grapes from which it is made are left on the vine until they freeze. They are then harvested in the early hours of the morning to ensure they remain frozen. This process allows the sugars to concentrate, creating an incredibly sweet and aromatic wine.
- Cabernet Sauvignon - A red wine characterised by its good tannic structure which gives it depth and persistence on the palate. It goes perfectly with pasta and grilled food.
- Gewürztraminer - A white grape variety from Alsace. Its name derives from the German word "Gewürz", which means "spicy". In the mouth, ginger and clove stand out, but also floral aromas and hints of peach and apricot.
- Rosé - A refreshing taste, thanks to notes of fresh raspberries and strawberries. Floral notes on the nose
If you wish, you can add a cheese and charcuterie board for one or two people for an extra charge.
