Step by Step
Getting around and learning about the city of Charlotte won't be a problem with this segway tour. By having a vehicle to get around North Carolina's largest city, you'll make the most of your time. This tour also has two options, a 2 hour tour and a 1.5 hour tour.
The main itinerary of both options is the same, but the two-hour tour includes a visit to two historic cemeteries, the Old Settlers and Elmwood, and the American Stadium where the Carolina Panthers play. Both tours also include a helmet, which is mandatory for riding, and a short period of learning and adaptation to the Segway.
The Segway is a small vehicle that is controlled by body balance. It has a handlebar that makes it easy to drive, even for those who are trying it for the first time. These and other driving instructions will be given to you by the tour guide, whom you will follow along the streets. You will pause at the most important monuments to listen to a short explanation of their history.
Some of the most emblematic monuments you will see are related to the beginnings of the city. The highlights of the tour are:
- Trade and Tryon Streets: where the Native Americans fought for their city.
- Bechtler Museum of Modern Art: with an exhibition of 20th century paintings.
- The Green: the city's largest park where locals choose to spend much of their days.
