Edinburgh Day Trip from London

This tour lasts approximately 16 hours and is perfect for those who want to see Edinburgh, a fascinating city with a rich history. To get there from London, you'll take a train with reserved seats that will drop you off just a few minutes from the centre of the Scottish capital.

The tour includes an entrance ticket to the Castle, which overlooks Edinburgh from the top of an extinct volcano. Inside, there are several points of interest, such as the Great Hall (built in the 16th century to house meetings of the Scottish Parliament), the six-tonne siege cannon Mons Meg and the Crown Room, which houses the Crown Jewels.

• St. Giles Cathedral - Recognisable by its Gothic architecture and beautiful stained glass windows. It is linked to the figure of John Knox, Scottish theologian and reformer of the local church.
• Burns Monument - Corinthian style temple dedicated to Scotland's national poet.
• The Scottish Whiskey Experience - An activity that will allow you to discover the history of the national spirit and taste the main varieties.
• Dean Village - Historic village on the banks of the Water of Leith. In the past, its inhabitants were mainly involved in flour production. The mills harnessed the energy produced by the flow of water.
• Royal Yacht Britannia - Former royal family yacht in service from 1953 to 1997. It is moored in the harbour district of Leith.
• National Gallery of Scotland - Rich collection includes works by Rubens, Botticelli, Monet, Van Gogh and several Turner watercolours.

The tour does not include lunch, but there is no shortage of alternatives at lunchtime. Both Old Town and New Town offer a wide variety of local and international restaurants.
