The excursion to La Palma from Tenerife will immerse you for a full day in the history and culture of the island known as the beautiful island. Accompanied by an expert local guide, you will visit the places of La Palma that will give you an insight into the wonderful traditions of the area, from the most ancient to the most recent.

The capital, Santa Cruz de la Palma, will welcome you with some of the most famous places of the island. There you will have approximately half an hour of free time to explore the area at your own pace and visit the main points of interest:

  • The Ship of the Virgin, a reproduction of the Santa Maria built in memory of the local sailors who travelled with Christopher Columbus.
  • The Naval Museum, which is located inside the Barco de la Virgen and where you can take a close look at naval charts and reproductions of some of the ships.
  • The Castle of Santa Catalina, one of the most important for Spain on the route to the Americas.
  • The typical balconies and double balconies that were built to ventilate the houses.

You will make a stop at the volcano of La Caldereta . Once there, the Mirador de la Concepción viewpoint will offer you the best views of the capital and the protected landscape that surrounds it. You will also stop in the district of Tacande on the way to Tazacorte . On the way you will be able to observe the youngest lava flows in Spain.

On the beach of Tazacorte it will be time to rest and recharge your batteries. You will be able to enjoy a typical Canarian menu (not included) in a privileged place near the beach.

Finally, you will stop at the Tajuya viewpoint to observe the Cumbre Vieja (Tajogaite) volcano and visit the affected area with more than 1000 houses destroyed during its eruption in 2021. This viewpoint is the place chosen by journalists from all over the world to broadcast the eruption.

An almost perfect excursion, all very well organised and with a marvellous route. The only bad thing was the weather which was not very nice that day, otherwise nothing to add. Highly recommended.
