Step by Step

On this tour you will have the opportunity, for about 1 hour, to sail along the Guadalquivir River. From the river, you will be able to enjoy the views of different icons of Seville, among which the following stand out:

  • La Torre del Oro: Tower built in 1221, 36 metres high, on the banks of the Guadalquivir River. It was erected by the Muslims who inhabited Seville to defend the city from river incursions.
  • The Triana quarter: Possibly the most famous quarter of Seville. It is known for its picturesque houses, its market, and its many restaurants serving local Andalusian food. This neighbourhood is also home to numerous flamenco clubs, the famous Isabel II Bridge and the Castle of San Jorge.
  • Isabel II Bridge or Triana Bridge: This bridge connects the centre of Seville with the Triana neighbourhood and owes its name to the fact that it was built under the rule of Queen Isabel II of Spain. It was built in 1852, and in 1976, it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest and Historical Heritage of Spain.
  • San Jorge Castle Museum: San Jorge Castle was a medieval fortification that served as the headquarters and prison of the Spanish Inquisition. In the 19th century, it was demolished to build a food market. Nowadays, there is a museum dedicated to the interpretation of ancient ruins and the study of the religious repression that the Inquisition Tribunal brought to Spain.

You will have an audio guide at your disposal thanks to which you can learn about the history of the city and how Seville has evolved with the passing of the centuries and the changes of settlers. The city was founded as a Roman colony with the name of Hispalis, but it has also been home to Visigoths, Muslims, Sephardic Jews and Christians.

Seville's historic centre is the sixth largest in Europe, and the city has one of the largest historical heritages on the continent. Among them are some World Heritage Sites, such as the Cathedral, the Alcázar and the Archive of the Indies .
