1. Nit de foc: A magical event that only happens once a year
The Nit de Foc means Night of Fire and, as it indicates, it is a joyful celebration with fire and light as the protagonists. It takes place on the eve of San Juan. During the day, the festive atmosphere begins to be felt practically all over the island thanks to the decoration of the streets and street markets where you can enjoy local food and sweets such as coca de San Juan.
At dusk, fireworks, bonfires and firecrackers are set off all over the island. In the streets of Palma de Mallorca you can see the Correfoc, which is a parade of people in costume carrying sparklers and torches and dancing in a super-animated spectacle.
On almost all the beaches it is traditional to light bonfires and jump over them to make wishes by the light of the fire and accompanied by music. Everything points to an unforgettable night.
The website of the town hall of Mallorca publishes the programme of the festivities closer to the date.

If you want to take part in a truly traditional festival, don't miss this one. These are the patron saint festivities of the town of Son Servera (festes de Sant Joan), where in June every year, they recreate a centuries-old tradition. Here, among other surprises, you will see the classic Mallorcan ninots dancing through the streets in a grand parade.
It takes place over several days, during which the town dresses up and there is everything: sporting events, markets, dancing, theatre and street concerts... An opportunity to get to know the culture and traditions of Mallorca better!
You can consult the calendar of fiestas of Sant Joan here.
6. Gastronomic event: Fira Nocturna de la Patata in Sa Pobla
This gastronomic fair is held in the town of Sa Pobla every year in June. Did you know that potatoes from this area are eaten all over Spain and part of Europe? It is well worth a potato festival for farmers and visitors!
On this day, as you might have guessed, the protagonist is the potato, both as a main dish and as a side dish. You can taste these dishes both in the main square of the village and in the bars and restaurants that take part in the event. This event is also accompanied, of course, by stalls selling products and musical performances.
7. Traditional Mallorcan games: Have fun as you used to!
Every year in June in Biniali, a pretty wine-growing village, the Fira dels Jocs, an event both to watch and to participate in, of traditional Mallorcan games. Do you miss activities like dancing the spinning top, flying the kite or taking part in sack races? Whether for children or adults, these games are available for everyone.

8. Fira de la pagesia de s'Alqueria Blanca
This beautiful fair is held in Santanyi at the end of June and beginning of July. A visit to this village is worthwhile for its location very close to the beach, its cobbled streets and its medieval style.
It is a very summery festival where seasonal agricultural products are on display. There are demonstrations of how products are made, sales and tastings. A fair we recommend if you want to learn about tradition and have fun at the same time.
There are also street parades and musical groups in the main squares. The bars and restaurants join in the celebration by offering menus and tapas at special prices for the festivities.
9. Shoe fair in Lloseta
Did you know that very good shoes are made in Mallorca? That is why this shoe fair is held every year in Lloseta in June. At the stalls you can see a demonstration of how handmade shoes are made and buy them at good prices. A very local and sustainable shopping option.
In addition to the variety of activities available, you can also sign up for a tour of the town's old shoe factories. A visit to the past and to the tradition that is very important to keep it alive.
The fair begins with a traditional parade and the streets will be animated by stalls, exhibitions and attractions for the little ones.
10. Festivities of San Pedro in the port of Pollensa
Pollensa, a pretty village in the Tramuntana mountain range, celebrates the festivities of San Pedro - or Sant Pere -, the patron saint of fishermen, around the 29th of June. This event, located by the sea, commemorates fishing and religion. You can see a colourful procession by land and by sea that starts at the chapel of Sant Telm and heads out to sea, where the saint is embarked.
The day is enlivened by musical events, popular competitions, a seafood fair and, of course, cooking and tasting of local fish.
You can find out more about these festivities here.
Route through the villages of the sierra by car
Some people still don't know: Mallorca is not only emerald blue, it is also green - very green! The beautiful Tramuntana mountain range is home to a number of villages that are well worth a visit. These mountain roads are not difficult and you will be able to go at your leisure in the month of June as the temperature is enviable and there is not yet a large influx of visitors.
Surrounded by mountains, rivers, lakes and breathtaking views, these villages will make you feel closer to the essence of Mallorca. From east to west, you can start in Pollensa and continue your journey through the spectacular mountain relief to Sóller, Deià and Valdemossa. You'll love wandering through the streets of these medieval stone-built villages with incredible views of the mountain pass.
By the way! If you don't have a car and you love cycling, you can book a bike tour.
Mallorca Cathedral
Mallorca Cath edral is the architectural jewel of the city. Admiring it from the outside is a pleasure but we know that getting to know it from the inside with a guided tour and learning about its history and details is a much more memorable experience. I recommend this plan in June, taking advantage of the fact that it is not yet high season so you can have a more comfortable and personal experience.
The tours offer a guided visit and you can also access the terraces to admire the city from the heights, and go up at sunset to get some beautiful photos of the city at the golden hour!
Discover the nooks and crannies of the city of Palma de Mallorca
Enjoying mild temperatures and just before the time when everyone goes on holiday, June is an ideal time to get to know the city without rushing, without crowds and in a more local way. A good idea is to take a tour on the tourist bus.
The city of Palma de Mallorca is very interesting. Apart from its famous cathedral, there are other interesting attractions to visit. There is the Almudaina palace, the Porciuncula with its spectacular stained glass windows, the Lonja, the Plaça de Cort, the Mallorcan patios, the Jewish quarter, the Arab baths... With so much to see, it is best to book a tour and get to know its nooks and crannies.
The weather in June in Mallorca
In June, the weather in Mallorca is characterised by the absence of rain and mild temperatures between 18 and 26 degrees Celsius. Perfect for sunbathing during the day and wearing a light jacket at night. The humidity in this month is more noticeable than in winter but without being too hot. On the other hand, there are usually no strong winds.
The sea water temperature is around 20 degrees. In short, an ideal time, sunny and with many hours of daylight but without the extreme heat of summer.
Prices in June: the month to enjoy the summer in low season
In June, airlines are already increasing the frequency of direct flights but prices remain fairly cheap as it is not yet considered high season. The same goes for accommodation. In other words, it's the perfect time to take advantage of affordable prices and visit cities, beaches and tourist attractions at a leisurely pace.
If you want to get an idea of what activities you can do in Majorca in June at a good price, check out this list.
Rent a car in Majorca in June
It is highly recommended to rent a car in Mallorca as it will allow you to access many more places quickly and make excursions. My recommendation is to rent a car from the airport, where there are several car rental offices. You will also find offices in the city of Palma. Again, travelling in June will also offer you advantages in this respect in terms of having a wider choice of vehicles available.
If you don't have a car, no problem! Here you have more options for airport transfers.
Boat trip in June
The sea in June is very calm and very pleasant for sailing and swimming with a water temperature of around 20 degrees Celsius. Irresistible! In a city where the sea is so important, what less than taking a tour from its waters by cruise, boat or catamaran.
There are many types of tours, depending on which one you choose you can sample food, visit another city, spot dolphins, go snorkelling and even party. Moving around the island will allow you to appreciate its geography from other angles, access difficult coves, learn about its history.... In short, it's a great idea for a fun and different day out. You are sure to find one that suits your taste.
Venture into the Caves of Drach in Manacor
The caves of Drach, in Manacor, offer a natural landscape of pure fantasy. Its undulating stalactites and underground lakes form a unique natural spectacle. Given its great beauty, it is a very attractive place to visit, which is why I recommend you book in advance. One of the advantages of visiting in June is that there is still not so much demand, so it is easier to book a tour for this time of year than in the middle of summer.
You can round off the day with a visit to Manacor, which is the second largest town on the island after Palma. It has a beautiful cathedral, museums and wineries.
The Drach caves are not the only ones in Manacor. Slightly less well known but equally impressive are the Hams caves and the Pirate caves. In the latter it is possible to snorkel.
