Step by Step
Escape from the hustle and bustle of the capital to discover a very special area in Granada, the Alpujarra. This is an excursion of about seven hours and in groups of about 20 people. A local guide will accompany you through some of the villages of this mountainous region.
On this excursion you will depart from Granada city in a van that will take you to the Alpujarra, located about 100 kilometres away by road. You will enjoy the roads that lead to this mountainous region, where you will appreciate the views of the province and the surrounding nature.
The villages you will pass through during this tour are:
- Lanjarón
- Pampaneira
- Poqueira Valley
- Bubión
- Capileira
Lanjaron is undoubtedly one of the best known villages in Granada, not least for being the province's bottled water brand. It has a ruined castle and is one of the most famous spa towns in Andalusia. It also has a number of fountains, accompanied by a short phrase or poem, most of which are by the Granada poet Federico García Lorca.
In general, in the Alpujarra the "Andalusian" legacy is very present, be it in agriculture, gastronomy, traditions and, above all, in its architecture. You will be amazed by the thick stone walls with oak trunks supporting the roof, as well as the slate used in the roofs.
