Explore Seoul's most iconic majestic royal building as you take this guided tour of Gyeongbokgung Palace, a testament to South Korea's rich history and culture.

You will join an expert private guide as you delve into the most fascinating corners of this structure, built in 1395 by King Taejo of the Joseon dynasty, following the elementary principles of feng shui.

After being almost completely destroyed during the Japanese occupation of Korea in the 20th century, the palace was restored in the 1990s and has since been modernised.

In this wonderful two-hour experience, you will be able to visit amazing sights such as:

  • Gwanghwamun Gate: this wooden structure, the main entrance, tells a story of more than 500 years. Here, you will see the changing of the guard ceremony.
  • Audience Hall: in this place, the king would meet with his high officials to discuss matters of state. It is decorated with beautiful murals and traditional Korean architecture.
  • Gyeonghoeru Pavilion: used to hold grandiose royal banquets. It is famous for its unique structure and its location in the centre of a lake.
  • Gyeongbokgung Palace National Museum: when you visit, you will learn about Korean history and culture, accessing a large collection of artefacts, jewellery, pottery and traditional clothing.
  • Royal Garden: you will feel like you are in an oasis of peace, surrounded by beautiful flowers and plants, the perfect place to relax and connect with natural beauty.
  • Hyangwonjeong Pavilion: in this area, you will enjoybreathtaking views of the palace and surrounding landscapes.
