Step by Step

Venice, with its unique charm and meandering canals, is a city that deserves to be explored in depth. To get around this fascinating city without hassle, opt for this season ticket which gives you access to a wide range of public transport. Here are some frequently asked questions to help you understand how this ticket works:

1. What does the Venice Transport Pass include? The pass gives you unlimited access to:

  • Vaporettos (water buses): To travel along the canals of Venice and visit the islands of Murano, Burano, Torcello, Lido, among others.
  • ACTV buses: Connecting Venice with mainland areas such as Mestre and Marghera.
  • Tramway: Another formula to reach the cities of Mestre and Marghera among other key areas of the Veneto region.
  • People Mover Monorail: Service connecting the Piazzale Roma bus terminal with the island of Tronchetto and the Venice Seaport.
  • Use of Trenitalia Urban Network trains: Only with a ticket valid for 1 day.

2. What is not included in the pass? The pass does not include:

  • Water taxis and gondolas.
  • Services operated by other companies, such as the Alilaguna lines connecting to Marco Polo airport.
  • Transfers outside the ACTV public transport network, such as trips to other Italian cities.

3. What are the available duration options? You can choose from a choice of passes with a duration of

  • 75 minutes
  • 1 day
  • 2 days
  • 3 days
  • 7 days

Note: The duration is counted in consecutive days from the first validation. For example, a 2-day subscription activated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday will be valid until 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.

4. How do I validate my season ticket? Before using public transport, you must validate your season ticket in the following way:

  • Locate the validator: At vaporetto stations and on ACTV buses, you will find validation devices, usually located near the entrances or at the turnstiles.
  • Bring your pass closer to you: enter your personal PNR reservation code. The PNR booking code is below the QR code on the voucher you will receive when you make your booking. Do not scan the QR code, just enter the PNR.

5. What happens if I don't validate my pass? Travelling without validating your pass may result in penalties or fines. Be sure to validate each time you start a new journey or change means of transport.

6. Is the season ticket a good option for tourists? Yes, it is ideal for those who want to:

  • Explore Venice without limits, including the nearby islands.
  • Save money compared to buying individual tickets.
  • Avoid worries about how to get around the city and enjoy greater flexibility.

7. What are the advantages of a season ticket over a single ticket?

  • Significant savings if you plan to travel frequently.
  • Convenience of not having to buy tickets for each journey.

The transport pass allowed us to experience the magic of Venice's canals from a different perspective. We were able to admire the beautiful buildings and picturesque bridges as we cruised along the water.

The 72-hour pass option was ideal, as we had plenty of time to discover the lesser-known corners of Venice.

We were surprised by the number of islands that can be visited using public transport. From the glass-famous island of Murano to the romantic island of Burano, each destination had its own special charm.
