Step by Step
Venture into the gastronomic offer of street food in Rome. You will visit famous food stalls and taste specialities. During your tour, a guide will take you to the best places to eat and to historical monuments.
You will go to Piazza di Campo de' Fiori, a picturesque square where you will find, only in the mornings, a market with all kinds of food. Here you will have your first tastings.
You will meet the most famous street food stalls, frequented by locals, where you will have delicious gastronomic choices. On the walk you will taste the best Italian pizzas, the classic appetizer suppli (rice croquettes), courgette flowers or cakes.
You will walk through the streets of the Jewish Ghetto, a neighbourhood created in 1555 by the decision of Pope Paul IV with the aim of isolating the Jewish people. It was once a poor neighbourhood, where Jews lived in overcrowded conditions with personal and professional restrictions. Today it is a tourist destination full of restaurants.
You will walk through the Portico of Octavia and see the remains of some of the buildings built in 27 BC.
Stop at Largo di Torre Argentina, one of the largest archaeological complexes in Italy. You will see the site where Julius Caesar was assassinated. It has 4 temples, the Pompeian Theatre and the Curia of Pompey (where senate meetings were held). Although the buildings are not fully preserved, some of them retain their foundations.
The Pantheon of Rome, located in Piazza della Rotonda, is one of the best preserved buildings of the imperial era. You will enter and marvel at the architecture and energy of this temple. During the tour, your guide will tell you the history and interesting facts about this monument.
