Within the walls of the Galleria Capodimonte are hundreds of works by artists such as Caravaggio, Titian, Botticelli and Raphael. It is a real palace divided into several rooms, of which the main ones are listed below:
- Collezione Farnese - The works that belonged to the King of Naples, Charles of Bourbon. Some of the most famous paintings are "The Misanthrope" (Pieter Brueghel the Elder), "Hercules at the Crossroads" (Annibale Carracci) or "Paul III and his grandsons Alexander and Octavian Farnese" (Titian).
- Galleria delle Porcellane - Crockery, candlesticks, crucifixes, ornaments and much more. All objects were made at the Real Fabbrica della Porcellana di Capodimonte.
- Collezione d'Avalos - A collection of miniatures, weapons, Flemish landscapes and great 17th century painters.
- Appartamento Reale - The room where five kings of the Bourbon dynasty stayed. The main rooms are the Sala della Culla, the Salone delle Feste and the Salone Camuccini, but there are also more intimate areas. The bedroom is decorated with frescoes inspired by those of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
- Manifesti Mele - A series of advertising posters made between the late 19th and early 20th century. They were originally located in the Magazzini Mele, the department stores of Belle Epoque Naples.
- Farnese and Bourbon armoury - A collection that traces the history of the conflicts and the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. It includes swords, armour, mortars and much more. The most important piece is the pair of rifle pistols made by Jean Baptiste La Roche.
The cultural institution is surrounded by a large green area called Real Bosco. It was the hunting ground of the Bourbons and is considered one of the most beautiful parks in Italy. It is divided into four zones and covers an area of approximately 130 hectares.
