Step by Step
The itinerary of this tour of Naples lasts approximately 3.5 hours and is designed for small groups. To avoid overexertion on the climbs and to move quickly, it is done on an electric bike. The assisted pedalling allows you to tackle the route without being an experienced cyclist. A local guide will accompany you along the route through great monuments, among which you will find the following:
- Maschio Angioino - Also known as Castel Nuovo, it is a medieval fortress and one of the undisputed symbols of the city. It was built in the 13th century at the behest of Charles I of Anjou, who ascended the throne of Sicily and moved the capital to Naples.
- Piazza Plebiscito - The largest and most emblematic public space in Naples. It owes its name to the plebiscite of 21 October 1860 which decreed the annexation of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies to the Kingdom of Italy. On its perimeter are the Royal Palace and other buildings of great historical interest.
- Galleria Umberto I - A splendid iron and glass structure in the heart of the historic centre. It was built in the late 19th century in just three years and quickly became the worldly centre of Naples,
- Castel dell'Ovo - A medieval fortress just a stone's throw from the sea. It was built to defend the city from barbarian attacks.
- Lungomare Via Caracciolo - The most beautiful promenade in the city. It has been pedestrianised for a few years now and is home to numerous bars, restaurants and pizzerias.
- Parco Naturale Virgiliano - A panoramic green area in the elegant Posillipo district. It covers an area of about 90,000 m² and overlooks the islands of Capri, Ischia and Procida, the historic centre of Naples and the Sorrento peninsula.
- Bagnoli - An old industrial district that has been reborn thanks to the Città della Scienza museum. One of the most emblematic places is the old dock used by the iron and steel industry.
The tour is usually done in the morning and is suitable for most people. Those travelling with children can take advantage of the children's seats and do the tour with the youngest members of the family.
