Step by Step

This tour allows you to experience three fundamental aspects of Bali: lush nature, traditional crops and religion. As this is a private activity, only your group of friends/family will participate and an air-conditioned vehicle will pick you up directly from your hotel. The tour lasts approximately 8 hours and includes a local guide. Some of the places you will see are:

  • Leke Leke - Spectacular waterfall in the Tabanan region, about an hour's drive from Ubud. A small stream of water cascades into a shallow pool of water where you can take a refreshing dip.
  • Pura Luhur Batukaru - A temple less frequented by tourists, located on the southern slope of the Batukaru volcano. According to local tradition, it is one of the 9 places of worship built to protect the island.
  • Jatiluwih - This is where the terraced rice fields are located. They occupy an entire valley and are still the main source of income for the region. The crops follow the Hindu principle of Tri Hita Karana, which is to maintain harmony between the works of man and the surrounding nature. It is not for nothing that they have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Even today, rice is still sown by hand and farmers use buffaloes to plough the land. All in all, it's an activity that allows you to get in touch with the real Bali. Tours are available at all times of the year.
