The most famous attraction is the Toumai skull, one of the oldest hominid fossils ever found. Discovered in 2001 in the Sahara Desert, it has been classified as belonging to the genus Sahelanthropus. Its study helps us to reconstruct the history of mankind and to better understand where we came from and how we became what we are. In addition, the museum consists of the following spaces:
- Gallery of human evolution - The extensive collection of fossil finds and remains documents the biological evolution of Homo sapiens and its ancestors.
- Human Rights Gallery - Reflects on ethical and social issues related to human beings.
- Societies Gallery - This section explores cultural diversity and traditions. It features the customs and traditions of people from around the world.
- Physical anthropology gallery - Includes information related to physical anthropology, such as the diversity of human races, biological evolution and the anatomical characteristics that make us unique as a species.
The Musée de l'Homme de Paris is located inside the Palais de Chaillot, which offers one of the most spectacular panoramic views of the Eiffel Tower. From around the museum you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the famous Parisian tower.
