Step by Step

This tour is particularly suitable for those who want to explore the area around Avignon. You will travel in a minivan with an experienced guide who will take you to the most beautiful places in Provence for a whole day (approximately 10 hours). Below are the stages of the tour:

  • Roussillon - A charming village characterised by the reddish tones of its buildings. In the surrounding area there were ochre deposits and in the past there was a flourishing industry that exported the mineral all over the world. Today, the factories no longer exist, but you can walk the famous ochre trail, a real fairytale landscape.
  • Gordes - Usually a short stage, no more than 20 minutes.
  • La Fontaine de Vaucluse - Quiet Provençal village known for its springs. To go up the river, just walk a few minutes along the Chemin de la Fontaine, a path that is as easy as it is picturesque. You'll stroll among turquoise waters, lush vegetation and smoothed rocks.
  • Pont du Gard - A Roman bridge/aqueduct. It is perfectly preserved and surrounded by lush nature. The ticket is included
  • Les Baux de Provence - A small village situated on a plateau and known for the ruins of an ancient castle. Reconstructions of medieval weapons, such as trebuchets and catapults, are on display here. In Les Baux the buildings blend into the rocky outcrops creating a unique landscape.
  • Saint-Remy de Provence - A town often associated with Van Gogh, who lived here for a brief period. The Dutchman moved to Saint-Rémi after the self-mutilation of his ear and found new inspiration for painting.

Lunch is not included but eating will not be a problem. You will find dozens of bars and restaurants offering traditional dishes. Among the most famous, it is worth trying the tapenade (a sauce made with olives, capers, anchovies and olive oil) or ratatouille (tomatoes, aubergines, onions, courgettes, peppers, all cooked for a long time).
