Step by Step
Take a pleasant walking tour of Montreal and learn more about the history of the city. You will be accompanied by an expert local guide, who will tell you all the relevant information about the city at each point of the tour.
There are two tour options, each lasting approximately one and a half hours:
- A shorter tour of either the east or west sides of Old Montreal.
- A longer tour of both
Please note that by taking the east and west tours on the same day, you will have a break of approximately 1 hour between the two tours. This is the perfect time for you to continue exploring the area on your own or the perfect time to pick up a souvenir.
Both itineraries take you on a comprehensive walking tour of Old Montreal's most iconic landmarks and major tourist attractions. It will be like travelling back in time to the era of New France. You will have the opportunity to visit iconic sites such as:
- Notre-Dame Basilica, whose original stained glass windows tell the religious history of the city.
- Place d'Armes and Place Jacques-Cartier, where you can get a glimpse of everyday life in Montreal.
- City Hall, one of the most beautiful city halls you've ever seen
- The Marché Bonsecours, which has served as Montreal's main public market for over 100 years.
There will also be time to stroll through the city's extensive green spaces. These include the Champ-de-Mars, a public park that now stands on the site of Montreal's former city walls.
